Who are we?
With the changes and launch of the new line/ store, mum (Debbie) wanted to come up with a new name, a name that could truly capture her personality and spirit. But mum’s issue is that she’s generally too modest, she’d considered things like “Dark” or “Dare” - both being a play on her initials - or something with her … but nothing really fit. Then we decided to go down the path of dragons (mum has loved dragons her whole life so it made sense), and then “Spring Dragon” just clicked. Mum was proudly born on the 1st of September, which, here in Australia, is the 1st day of Spring, but this however, wasn’t the only reason “Spring Dragon” seemed so perfect. Spring is generally seen as the time of new beginnings, which this relaunch certainly is. It’s also a time of joy and hope, and anyone who knows my mother, will agree that she’s always laughing and bringing joy to those around her, plus she’s the reason my sister and I are the optimistic, glass-half-full people we are today. Then, on the dragon side of things (other than mum’s obsession with them), mum is wise, she always has the best advice and is very caring to everyone, as well as terrifying to anyone who hurts those dear to her, just like a dragon. She’s also one of those people who has a hard time throwing out anything that has even the slightest chance of being useful one day, especially if it’s arts or crafts related. For all these reasons Spring Dragon is the perfect embodiment of mum and the store brand name.
OUR STORY
Hello, my name is Debbie, I originally started sewing and making bags, sunglasses cases etc and creating vinyl transfer t-shirts for myself, daughters, and friends as a hobby as well as a way to make extra cash, which being a single mum, came in very handy.
Then as their popularity grew, I opened an online shop. I have had great success with my shop. But I was always frustrated that I was limited to the fabric prints that I could purchase, when as a graphic designer and photographer I had so many ideas.
This is where the new Spring Dragon Line/ Store comes in, over the years I have been getting into sublimation printing, another hobby that I loved doing, so decided to combine both into a new Line/ Store. This Idea has opened up a whole new range of products that I can add to my store, as well as a whole range of custom products that I can create as one off items for customers for themselves as well as for gifts. I can use all my years of experience to create original gift items rather than the same designs that you see in many online stores.
